Resolutions in 2021

Resolutions in 2021

Written by: Kenzie

Hello again everyone, it has been far too long! Toward the end of 2020, us three post-grad losers really got overwhelmed with everything. That’s easy to do with what a wild year it was so if you, too, got overwhelmed, we know exactly how you feel and that is okay.

The blog, unfortunately, took a bit of a step back during all of that so we could focus on getting everything done that we needed to get done. And now, 2021 has arrived! I wanted to kick off the year by sharing my resolutions and in February, we’ll share our first life update of the new year.

For me, I kept my resolutions (or focus, or goals, whatever you want to call them) fairly vague and simple. This way it gives me some wiggle room for adjustment as needed depending on what the world throws at me. I kept it down to three resolutions.

  1. Be more creative.

See how vague that is? I really just want to focus more on creating - whether that’s photos, art, great meals, beautiful cakes or dessert, anything. I’ve been itching to tap back into my creative side hardcore and I’ve just felt like I haven’t had time. I’m going to make more of an effort to create time to create.

2. Be kinder to myself, others, and the planet.

If that sounds a little hippie woo-woo, then so be it! I want to take good care of myself this year and practice a lot of self love and focus on not judging others and always offering kindness in any place I can. Also, I really want to do my part in taking care of the earth. I’m going to try to focus on practicing habits that are environmentally friendly and swap as many single-use items as I can for more sustainable ones.

3. Stay mindful about my spending.

This one is more quantifiable, but I still kept it somewhat vague because you know I’m still a follower of the “treat yo’self” mentality. I just want to focus on savings (homegirl wants a house) and spending my money on things that are worthwhile - fun experiences, things that I’ll use forever, or just things that I really really love.

What are your resolutions or goals for the new year?? Got any big plans you’re looking forward to?
Also, be sure to hop over to our Instagram, @therambleandrove because I’m going to be more active on there too as part of my first resolution.
Looking forward to a better year and making the most of everything! Let’s do it, y’all!
